Technology!

Technology

Online learning is very different than in person learning because you are pretty much on your own. Taking an online class seems to make you less responsible in completing the assignments then actual class courses that are due in class. Although there was always an assignment due every week I can become a habit to the assignment hours before it is due. As well as you can get ahead in turning in assignments. A benefit in an online class is that you have more than the usual time to complete the assignment. A challenge is that sometimes things are not understood or clearly explained and cannot rely in asking the instructor to show me or explain in person. Even though we can email the instructor via email it still takes time to wait for a response and it is not the same then having it explain face to face. The technologies that we used in this semester were ok I really do not fell any technology was beneficial in this course. The blogger was not really a benefit because I felt it can be used for other students to peek around others work an get information from them instead of actually putting effort into the assignment. Tends to be a way for people to really on others work in case they were not able to read the novels or documents we had to read for certain assignments. The only technology that help me a lot in this course was being able to download most of the text through kindle fire for free. It really helps that in this course we had links that would take us directly to the kindle fire version meaning it was free and had to avoid paying over ten dollars in order to complete an assignment. This is something that I will be using more in other classes. Every time I have a certain piece of a document or a book to analysis I would make sure that instead of going out and buying the certain document that is required to look it up and see if it is offer for free. Overall taking an only class requires a lot of knowledge for it eventually you will find it’s tricks to it.

Revising

When it comes to writing I feel that either I need to know what I am writing or I don’t. The times that I know what I am writing about I tend to do good because I have so much to talk about that I add all the details that are part of my writing. When I do not know what am writing about I know that my paper will make no sense and will be confuse have way and start repeating my words. I usually like to summarize and do a cluster to make sure what the points I want to talk about are. Revising is not really my friend. I know that it is the best thing to do to be successful in writing I try my best to take my paper to get revised but someone else and not myself because if I revise it will be perfect for me. When other people read my writing they are able to comment and tell me my mistakes. For Essay number 3, I did not get the chance to take it to the writing center and get it revised but I got my boyfriend to read it and point out the mistakes or the parts where my essay did not make sense. Revising is always the best route to go when it comes to writing essay that are longer than 3 pages because there is so much to be put on longer papers and sometimes you feel you going the right way when in reality you’re not.

Fear of Death

If we only knew what happens after death. But why worry about death now when you should be focusing about present time and enjoy life. In the book White Noise by Don DeLillo, the fear of death plays throughout the entire book. Jack and his wife Bebette are always wondering who would be the first one to die. As the story goes on, Jack and Babette both find out that they can possibly die sooner than the other. As much as each of them tends to be strong and not make it seem that they fear death in reality they are both scared to be the first one to die. “Babette and I have turned our lives for each other’s thoughtful regard, turned them in the moon light in our pale hands, spoken deep into the night about fathers and mothers, childhood, friendships, awakening, old loves, old fears, (except fear of death).” (Page 30). Both Jack and Babette fear death fear the unknown.  Part of the human condition is to want to know and understand what is going on around us why things happen and death plays part of the questions that go through people’s head.  Everyone would like to know what happens after death and whether a person goes to heaven or hell. American’s risk of fear due to their emotions and always wonder their beliefs of death.
